Power Washing vs. Soft Washing: What Does Your Home Need?
When most people think about cleaning a house exterior, they picture a high-pressure wand blasting away dirt. That works great on concrete — but on siding, roofs and painted wood, it can do real damage. That's why professionals use two different methods.
Power washing
Power washing uses high-pressure water to physically remove dirt, grime, oil and stains. It's ideal for hard, durable surfaces like concrete driveways, sidewalks, brick and stone patios. We use a rotary surface cleaner on flat areas for even, stripe-free results.
Soft washing
Soft washing uses low pressure — similar to a garden hose — combined with a biodegradable cleaning solution that kills mold, mildew and algae at the root. It's the right choice for vinyl siding, painted surfaces, stucco and roofs. Because it treats the growth rather than just blasting it off, results last longer.
Which surfaces get which method?
- Soft wash: vinyl and painted siding, roofs, stucco, painted trim
- Power wash: concrete, pavers, brick and stone
- Either, carefully: wood decks and fences (lower pressure, proper tip and distance)
